Baking : Cream cheese tarts !

When I arrived at Melbourne earlier this year, I spent 20 minutes just trying to turn on my gas stove, so the idea of baking on my own for the very first time was extremely foreign, yet exciting.  After much thought, I really doubted my capabilities and skills to make my favourite dessert - macaroons so I picked my second favourite pastry - cream cheese tarts !

All I used was the Theromomix / Truemix and an oven.
I honestly recommend everyone to get this machine, even though its pretty pricey, it is the best investment all you housewives / girlfriends / soon-to-be girlfriends can ever have. No boyfriend ah ? Get this la since "the way to a man's heart is through the stomach"Anyway they feature this machine on Masterchef Aus as well ! It can do practically everything except for deep fry. Blend, cook, stir fry, knead, oh everything.

Here is my recipe :

Crust
200g plain flour
100g butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
60g water

Add flour, butter and salt into the machine for 10 seconds with speed 6.
Then add water, knead for 15 seconds.

Filling
200g cream cheese
50g butter
50g caster sugar
1/2 lemon
1/2 whipping cream
50 raspberry filling

Throw in everything for 20 seconds at speed 8.

My cream cheese filling done by the machine in less than 20 seconds !
I was honestly really horrified at how much cream cheese, butter and fats I had to put in the recipe. SO THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN EATING ALL ALONG.

Machine kneaded dough. Sorry la, its my first time touching these moulds, I had NO IDEA how to put all the dough into the mould perfectly, and I didn't have the rolling dough thing.

First I baked the shell in the oven for 15 minutes.

Then I add the cream cheese filling

Drop on some jam and then pop it back into the oven for 20 minutes.
At this point I was super proud of myself thinking I can now go on Facebook and tell everyone my girlfriend level increase, ask boys send in their resume and everything.

until...

I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY IT TURNED OUT SO MONSTROUS.
Now I know why I don't have a boyfriend. Cannot get to their stomach.

and from this experience I also accidentally cut my finger. I know it doesn't even seem possible because knives aren't even needed to make cream cheese tarts, but I somehow managed to unlock the ultimate noob level.

and then I wanted to camwhore with one of the nice tarts, but being the clumsy mess I am, the tart dropped on me -__________________-

but ok I really determined to make a woman out of myself so I spent the entire afternoon the next day making new tarts.

and I think it turned out less monstrous hahaha.

Even though some of my tarts really CMI, it was tremendous fun. I stood in my kitchen just laughing at the mess I made, and not like the miserable laugh but the HAHAHA liberating laugh. I wanna bake cookies next ! With the machine its so easy !!! I just need to throw everything in and press buttons. Love love love mum for getting one for me in Melbourne !!!! Any other users out there ? Tell me what your favourite thermomix recipe is !!!
